Pretty much represents what’s wrong in tech journalism. As if developers could design and develop without having the hardware in hand or would want to risk it prior to getting first hand experience with the hardware. Not saying it’s not possible, we did our best with Triode in the simulator, but this piece is trash. It takes more than a month to develop meaningful UI for AN ALL NEW FORM FACTOR. 🤬

@gedeonm@mastodon.social Yeah, more than a month using the simulator alone! At least! My iPhone 16 Pro Max is going to have to last me until maybe the iPhone Duo Pro 3? lol

@gedeonm@mastodon.social The article is written for the person spending $1,999, not for developers. They want to know if the apps work, not why they don't. Developers can only work with the hardware and tools Apple provides. If the ecosystem isn't ready at launch, that's Apple's responsibility. Developers didn't choose the launch date. Apple did.

@gedeonm@mastodon.social How much of the Triode simulator work held up once you had the hardware in hand?
