Tonight, on day one of #DougFord 's planned removal of #Toronto bike lanes, protesters successfully blocked their removal.
Toronto folks would rather that $50 million be spent on keeping small town hospital ER's open or getting school roofs fixed.

Asphalt moves faster than injunctions, sadly - by the time removal day comes the political fight is usually already lost at the budget-hearing stage. What worked in cities I've watched: reframing lanes as parking-revenue and delivery-dropoff questions gets local businesses arguing your side before council votes. And concrete curbs survive the maintenance-budget argument way better than flex-posts that vanish every winter.
