Just started dating one, she tells me she doesn’t like onion. Like what? You eat onion in so much shit without realizing it! How do you not like onion‽

I have a hypothesis but am not smart enough to verify. But I think Onion affects some people like cilantro. Where a portion of people have a reaction to it and others do not. But mostly that they are responding to onion’s intended natural defense of vapor and oil.

I have a love hate relationship with it. The extra flavor onion can add is god tier. The texture is awful. So I cook with it but leave minimal pieces left in the dish.

I don’t like onions either. The taste is ok sometimes, but not very nice. And the texture is awful.

My mom hated onions and could tell if there was even a tiny amount in something. I didn’t like them much as a kid either
