Thinking about the time a guy who hit on me at a bar and I said, “there’s no pot of gold at the end of this rainbow,” and I think he’s still sitting there trying to figure out what I meant. 🌈

wonder how much crap is required to get basic voxel sculpting up inefficient version is just big ole array or bit bank (more efficient version involves octrees, "bricks", roaring bitmaps and the like) marching tets or cubes to get a mesh, then shovel that down to the GPU (i found a paper that does some subgrid marching tets, which gives smoother meshes without all the banding) some projection math to find where the brushes go hmmh

Is it weird to create a hidden page on your site that exposits all of the boring things about yourself that tend to come up in conversation on dating apps and also that you are hitting on someone and then hand out cards with a QR code to that page to asynchronously hit on someone instead of traditionally hitting on them or dealing with the hellscape of dating apps? Please boost for science #dating

I was accepted into the beige party as @bimmer@beige.party but haven't fully migrated yet. I won't be posting from @bimmer much longer and will probably keep this as a backup, but please give my beige account a follow while I wait for my robes to arrive in the mail and actually do the migration

“Where did all the principled people who would hold the line against slop code in open source go?” Maybe they left or were pushed out because they objected to Nazi tattoos, allegiance to Gamergate with threats of doxxing and SWATting, gendered violence at developer meetings and conferences, convicted child abusers at conferences, transphobia, ableism, and platforming racism because “he can code” or “he wrote a book.” Did we really expect action against bad things from the so-called leaders wh...

TIL that in #rust, writing this: let _ = semaphore.acquire().await?; Is a terrible idea, if you want to use a semaphore to limit the number of concurrent tasks, because the semaphore is automatically dropped, as the binding is unused. To fix it: let foo = semaphore.acquire().await?; So the compiler will only drop the semaphore when variable foo goes out of scope.
