Mountain Shadow Late August in eastern Iceland, and the sky doesn't get darker than astronomical twilight all night. The sun does set, but it doesn't dip far below the horizon. It's 21:40 in Djúpivogur, and there's been a pretty sunset. Even now, the embers remain glowing. Above pyramidal Búlandstindur mountain, the sun is casting its last colour onto the clouds around a long shadow of the mountain peak. #TravelThursday #Iceland #Photography

Chunks Icebergs calved from the piedmont glacier Breiðamerkurjökull float in the glacial lagoon of Jökulsárlón until the ebb tide takes them out into the ocean. Once in the North Atlantic sea, the wave action deposits a large amount of this ice onto the black beaches of Fellsfjara, also known as the Diamond Beach. On this day in November, a brisk wind was raising the waves and smashing them against the turquoise ice clutter. #TravelThursday#TravelThursday #Iceland #Photography

Picture-perfect A beautifully sunny February day and we're driving towards Seyðisfjörður in the east of Iceland. Away from the road, the scenery is pristine. The blown snow partially hiding the peaks, the exposed black vertebrae defining the mountain ridges, the frozen lakes, the tall snow-poles following the road's edge. Dazzling white snow, blue shadows, and clear, bright sunshine.
