RE: https://lgbtqia.space/@aceofcosmicspace/117388322996515225 PLEASE BOOST. Okay, as a trans *man* I experience dysphoria sometimes, but I've never experienced dysphoria as a woman before, as I've never been a woman before(long story but the fact I am plural accounts for much of that). For additional context, I've recently discovered I'm bigender(trans man, and woman). In many ways this feels more closely aligned with trans women's experience than cis women's experience...so, my trans women fedi friends, what do *you* do when you feel dysphoric to feel better please? Tips, tricks etc greatly appreciated. (Femme language towards me in comments please, and my femme/girl name here online is Acey💖) #trans #transwomen #transgrnder #dysphoria #bigender #bisexual #plural #transgirlstuff

@dawid@vebinet.com fwiw, a further fillip to thailand's nice LGBTQI credentials is how well they have catered to the T part of the acronym, being a prime destination for pre-op transwomen from around the world to travel there for our life-saving surgeries ... 2006 being my huge year for this. i have no current info, but hope they have kept up their world-standard hospital facilities & surgical expertise that so many of us around the rock have come to esteem so highly. #thailand #LGBTQI #transition #MtF #PostOp #Transwomen

Today, I'm chewing on Kate Manne's theory of misogyny as a social force for policing the roles of "human giver" and "human being" in what it has to say about the shapes of transmisogyny. I'm not sure if others have developed it in this way, but here's the thoughts it spurred in me. It's especially this summary of Manne's framework in Nagoski & Nagoski's "Burnout" that got me thinking: "Kate Manne describes a system in which one class of people, the “human givers,” are expected to offer their time, attention, affection, and bodies willingly, placidly, to the other class of people, the “human beings.” The implication in these terms is that human beings have a moral obligation to be or express their humanity, while human givers have a moral obligation to give their humanity to the human beings." (Nagoski & Nagoski, p. 8) Of course, cis women are expected to be and socialized into the role of "human giver" while cis men are expected to be and socialized into the role of "human being," and if a woman should choose to act as a human being, rather than solely a giver, she is then punished - this is how the system of misogyny is enforced. #TransFem #TransWomen #Transmisogyny #Trans #Feminism #TransFeminism
