💠 What does this look like?
▫️ I write out or in my head will say the thoughts and take a step back and evaluate them.
-- As an introvert, I have time to do this typically. Less so in person of course.
I apply as best I can an advisory evaluation of the response, and decide of the benefits outweigh the costs/risks. ▫️ ▫️ Costs of this self-advisory process are also evaluated, and if comfortable enough, I can bypass it entirely and just let those loose associations, quips, and rejoinders rip.
💠 Example?
▫️ Colleague: "Wow you have all the call days on Fridays."
▫️
▫️ Advisory Comments: "That Granary can ship mate, we know this person and trust them to understand where you're coming from" , or "Yo, you're about to be completely misunderstood and paranoid the rest of the day that you were weird or offputting, let it go but hey that was funny"
💠 Summary Statement:
And so this is my way of long-form writing out my neurodivergent strategies in social situations, the amount of WORK that goes into them, and why I am exhausted by the end of the day.
But hey, I've stayed out of being misunderstood, mitigated rejection sensitivity dysphoria, & kept a job in this capitalist hole we call Earth 2026, so there's that.
