Thomas Payer - HONORABLE MENTION

The photo series “Nymphaea” is a poetic and minimalist black-and-white study of water lilies. Three photos represent the three habitats of this plant: the soil under the water, the water itself, and the air. The images show the same plant at intervals of about one month. The photographs show the delicate leaves and flowers of the plants floating gently on the surface of a pond. The stems and leaves growing upwards in the water can also be seen, as well as the points of contact with the lake bed
