Next part in the art log of N Toyohito is a tryout to figure out how the human face actually works... Got a pictures from I don't even remember where, printed it and I tried to get it broken down in shapes and lines and proportions. Kept some notes with horrible handwritting too ^^ Next steps: *Make a more drawing-oriented study of face on my sketchbook *Make this dude's portrait on my sketchbook and see how close I'll get. #artjourney #study #mastoart #drawing #portrait #pencil

Instead of making notes, I decided to draw the portrait on my #sketchbook instead. Took me quite some timem but apart from a lightly bigger top of the head, I'm pretty happy with the result! Next step values and facial hair, while I _might_ try out some inking as well! #artjourney #mastoart #pencil #wip #study #portrait #drawing

After maybe more than a month I finally got some time and mental space to draw something!! Needing some copic markers for a competition I ended up buying a new sketchbook (smaller for travels to always carry with me on my backpack), went for a stroll at a nearby park in a VERY hot day for me and to cope I ended up sitting in a wooden bench, bellow a tree drawing! :D Felt good! Nice to be back and to share something ^^ (I miss my manga making days so much :( ) #mastoart #landscape #park #nature #travel #artjourney #pencil #traditionalart #drawing #sketchbook

And now comes another study! After a looooooong time my brain can function again XD So here is my very first ever value study (from a video in which I follow along, but still it's a thing I'm quite happy about!) #mastoart #pencil #traditionalart #drawing #study #artjourney

HOW CAN EGGS BE SO HARD TO DRAW REALISTICALLY AND RENDER??????!!!!!!! But how can we draw anything if we don't enjoy drawing an egg every now and then? :P #traditionalart #mastoart #study #pencil #stilllife #artjourney

And when one doesn't have access to pencils and tools to do improve fundamentals and basic drawing skills, brush pen and line technique takes place... I have no idea if that even makes any sense if it's not done at the same pace every day though :thinking_rotate:#traditionalart #mastoart #study #brushpen #brush #ink #artjourney

And the grinding continues! No way to actually figure out portraits without values... And to get values you need planes... And to get planes you need shapes... and to get good shapes you need to figure out circles and spheres and skulls... #traditionalart #mastoart #study #pencil #artjourney #sketchbook #sketch #drawing

Based on the previous (above) image I decided to go along with which shapes feel best for me to work with for heads... Turns out something between box and sphere and a cylinder (or box). #mastoart #traditionalart #pencil #study #sketchbook #sketch #drawing #artjourney

Being #figuary I decided to take 30 minutes today and try out some figure drawing. Turns out worse and better than I expected... 30 seconds are too little to even understand what's happening. #mastoart #traditionalart #pencil #study #sketchbook #sketch #drawing #artjourney

Two birds with one stone: in trying to get consistency with Rid's face and characteristics I end up actually doing very nice and sorta thorough studies on faces/portraits! 70 more heads of Rid remain :D Soon I'll know his face better than mine xD @altbot@fuzzies.wtf#antumbra #oc #traditionalart #mastoart #pencil #study #sketchbook #artjourney
