Hive Mind Associative Memory Query: Within the past few days, there was a post that showed up in my stream with an un-captioned image of text about a 19th Century botanist lamenting that where others see development, botanists see destruction. It's been haunting me since. I want to 1) Verify the excerpt, 2) Find the source 3) Attribute. If I could search for my own Likes, I could probably find it, bit I don't know if/how to do that. #HiveMind #Botanist #Solastalgia

Hey, folks. I haven't been online much only because I've been too busy! I've just wrapped up two large projects I've been working on for months. Here's the recording of one of them, the webinar I delivered last week, "Little Bugs in the Big City: Urban Pollinator Habitat Gardening", for the Massachusetts Pollinator Network. https://vimeo.com/showcase/11553386?video=1196123734 #Pollinators #Vimeo #MAPN #NYC #Gardening #Habitat

"Linguistic anachronisms often disrupt my suspension of disbelief." Look, if we can suspend disbelief enough to accept a "universal translator" that perfectly interprets between 20th-21st century American English and some never-heard-before "alien" language, we can assume that interpretation includes temporal/historical/evolutionary linguistic changes. (As evidenced in every single episode hitting the "Time Travel" BINGO sq...

I'm in Burlington, Vermont for the 2026 Northeast Natural History Conference 2026. Say HI if you're also here! Took a short walk through Centennial Woods this morning, walking distance from the hotel, as a tech rehearsal for this afternoon's field trip to Russell Farms. #NENHC #NENHC2026 #Vermont #Burlington #Naturalists #Conference #Beeple
