Interesing post-mortem on the Foursquare app. "The Foursquare acquisition was a $0 outcome for equity holders – $0 for preferred, $0 for common. It’s bittersweet to see these details surface publicly – at least now there’s an opportunity to comment on them" https://teendrama.substack.com/p/some-final-words-on-foursquare

iPhone Duo reviews are very...unsatisfactory? (is that a word?). Comparing it with iPhone 18 Pro misses the point. Blaming apps that don't adopt for the screen (even before the 1st device is shipped to someone that is not hand-picked tech reviewer) misses another. Comparing it with Android but skipping the fact that Android apps had 7 years to be better for form factor (though they are not), and more and more. I learned nothing about the device from these reviews aside from reviewers tic...

Can't wait to see the AI starting to help us make faster and smaller, not bigger and slower apps and operating systems.

The worst part of having world cup in US (aside from all others) is the commentators talking about NFL celebrities and "international football".

Years ago I had a dream taking part in WWDC. Initially money was the blocker (as indie dev I had to pay everything out of my pocket, and 7d roundtrip to San Francisko from Latvia is really not cheap). Then it was challange of winning the lottery. But now traveling to US? Even if someone gave me free invitation and paid everything I would still stay home. It's incredible how Republicans fucked up brand of the "Land of the free" in such a short time. Probably for decades.

Have been traveling from Riga🇱🇻to Leonidio🇬🇷 by car and back for a month+ visiting 🇱🇹🇵🇱🇸🇰🇭🇺🇷🇸🇲🇰🇦🇱🇲🇪🇧🇦🇭🇷🇸🇮. Did not touch a code once, probably totally out of touch for anything AI coding agents related, no regrets. #IndieDevLife

Meanwhile I'm constantly updating (and checking out what's new) 3 GUI frontends for AI agents, 5 code editors with agent plugins, opened about 50 tabs + about 5 new every day (that I'm afraid to look at) with github repos and search results for skills, MCPs and advice threads (I know these will become obsolete in about 2 weeks or so). I also sent myself some 30 emails with articles that I won't read.

What comes next: "This was oddly poetic, as perhaps the only example in this entire saga of agents doing a favor for the soon-to-be-displaced white collar workers. When they ended up as delivery drivers, at least half their earnings weren’t going to Uber and DoorDash. Of course, this favor from technology didn’t last for long as autonomous vehicles proliferated. Once agents controlled the transaction, they went looking for bigger paperclips." https://www.citriniresearch.com/p/2...

"In practice, agents default to satisfying whoever is speaking most urgently, recently, or coercively, which is empirically the most common attack surface our case studies exploit" https://arxiv.org/pdf/2602.20021
