RE: https://fosstodon.org/@ThePSF/116680292925644886 👇 Seems like a better deal than AI to me.

What AI experts are talking about IRL is a bit different than all the online noise. Makes me glad we designed the Wagtail AI package the way we did. Here are the trends I observed: https://wagtail.org/blog/what-i-learned-from-two-days-of-hanging-out-with-ai-experts/ #Wagtail #AI #MachineLearning #OpenSource

I'm getting spam from AI agents now that are sending me ads based on my GitHub profile. One included a "gentle note" inviting me to unsubscribe instead of reporting this trash as spam. That just made me not-so-gently hit the spam button! 😂

A thought on the privilege of being an English speaker: When I'm tired of speaking my 2nd language (français), I can switch back to English and go about life in Montréal (mostly) without issue. That's not an option for a lot of people who speak English as a 2nd/3rd language. They can't just got to a store and expect someone to speak Hindi or Mandarin. They have to keep slogging through unfamiliar verbs and tenses no matter what. That makes me respect them a whollllllll...

All right #bilingual and #multilingual people, tell me your secrets for making annoying popup offers about translating to English in browsers and email clients go away. Because my French is good enough now for all these AI-fueled translation offers to be really annoying. Je ne veux pas l'anglais! 😂

I'm SO happy with how my talk was produced for #PyLsdiesCon 2025! The intro by Ariane Djeaupang was fantastic and the slick animated title was awesome! Have a watch here and learn how Python devs (yes, even backend devs) can help out with #accessibility on the web. https://youtu.be/KrtUTEZzD6U?si=lmTtsCiK600UAAPy #Wagtail #Django #Python

RE: https://fosstodon.org/@wagtail/116051057845136300 Hey y'all. Awards can seem like marketing fluff, but the truth is having a trophy (or two) could make a big difference in getting Wagtail's name in front of new people who would really love our software. So if you love Wagtail, please vote for us. You don't even have to fill out the whole ballot if you don't want to. 😉

It's time to get out the vote y'all! Wagtail has been nominated for TWO CMS Critic Awards! If you love our software, please show your support by voting for us. Get your ballot here: https://cmscritic.com/vote (P.S. If you're in NC, don't forget to vote in the primaries either! I voted early in the North Carolina primaries at my public library. There were honestly some real tough choices on that ballot. If you live in NC, please go vote! Due to gerrymandering, our primary might be your only chance to make a real choice! If you don't live in my state, then you can go vote for Wagtail in the CMS Critic Awards. Anyone can vote! No ID needed. Vote here: https://cmscritic.com/vote #Wagtail #Django #Python #CMS #OpenSource

Apparently I have a new neighbor in my crawlspace. Must have sensed that a #Python person lives here. Funny that it showed up while I was watching Python Unplugged too. 😂

Soooooooo, the DjangoCon US CFP closes on my birthday! 🎂 Maybe I'll wear this party crown when I submit my proposal today. You should submit one too! It's not cash or flowers, but it's still an acceptable birthday gift in my book. 🎁 Get those presents (ahem, proposals) submitted here: https://pretalx.com/djangocon-us-2026/cfp #Wagtail #Django #Python #OpenSource

G'luck #PyConUS organizers! May the things that go wrong be no worse than me punching myself in my own face with my umbrella last year. 😁 ☂️ (IYKYK...)

I'm not making it PyCon US this year because of 💰. But if you are going, please consider staying in the official room block and booking NOW. Here's why: https://pyfound.blogspot.com/2026/04/pycon-us-2026-hotels.html
