The Japan immigration and customs process with the QR codes is NOT more efficient than the old paper method. Scan the QR code three different times. Face scan four times. Fingerprints two times. And it doesn’t seem like fewer staff either as they have tons of staff telling people what to do and where to go. I think Japan should go learn from Singapore on this one.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@thejapantimes/117498524575245937 Just yesterday was talking about this with a friend I caught up with here in Tokyo. Great year for potatoes and evidently matsutake (松茸). Wish I didn’t have to fly home today.

On my way to Narita on the limousine bus. Can feel it being pushed around by the wind. And then as we cross some of the rivers on the way I can see mild chop. Typhoon is way down by Okinawa but seems to be stirring things up all the way to Tokyo?

Before Covid times. When I was traveling constantly for work. I used to run 5-10k every other day. Loved running around the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, out to the aquatic center and then back around the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, Lumpini park in Bangkok. And now I’m slowly getting back to running. Starting on the treadmill to build up. But I really forgot how much I love to run. Physically and mentally.

Made my first ever Detroit style pizza. Actually I’ve never eaten one but thought it seems like an awesome style.
