<p>Dane in the scottish highlands learning Scots Gaelic since Monday. In amongst lots of trees. Self sufficient with wood. Have fruit trees and a poly tunnel but have a lot to learn. (he/him). Aspiring feminist with so much gender baggage still to unlearn. </p><p>On mastodon for the nature, trees and homesteading but also toot a little about IT and general stuff. </p><p>Trying my best to be as woke as possible. Torries and Brexit can get tae f*ck!</p><p>solarpunk, hopepunk, progressive, utopia.</p>

    My wife found a young pinemarten in a field (well the dogs spotted it) and it wasn’t able to stand up or walk. It’s now snug in a box and the local nature ranger is en-route . Crows and buzzards were quickly on the scene - no visible injuries. #highlands #pinemarten

    Loads of folk taking photo of this statue today in Edinburgh (Adam Smith - the absolute rocket that invented ‘capitalism’). Imaging travelling back in time to the enlightenment and telling these folk what happened 200 years later. #capitalism #resistance

    Storm Boelo hit us yesterday but luckily was not as severe as ‘Amy’ last year. Only 1 tree uprooted and it remained inside our boundary so there’s no urgency to get it cleared straight away. Pheww . The beech is quite big - it’s difficult to get the scale in a photo - i’d guess it was about 30metres tall and just under 200years old - the relentless rain this year has softened the ground so much that trees like this can just ‘topple’

    Trust me they were very happy on this wet walk - they look a bit bewildered at being asked to sit down while i checked the water tank (quite full of silt ‘cos of the rain this summer) #dogsofmastodon #homestead #flatcoatretriever #spaniel

    Did “log day” for like 6 hours straight and didn’t notice the thrush nest in the corner of bay 4 until after i’d finished .

    Today is a log day. Fuel for next winter ain’t going to split and stack itself (well in my dreams it does) . Got 4 bays to fill and this last bay is quickly running out … #homesteading #oakisshitforburning #elmisshitforsplitting
