Out of an abundance of caution, we are putting our services in maintenance mode until we update to the latest PHP version. Affected services: - https://pixelfed.social - https://pixelfed.art - https://fedidb.com - https://fedidb.org - https://fediverse.info

Yes, we are still waiting for Apple to approve our new iOS app (after like 6 rejections). Instead of wasting this idle time, we redesigned FediDB, updated the backend, and made it a federated wiki that you can login to with your fediverse account, and help update apps, software and even servers! https://fedidb.com/wiki/hello-world

Pixelfed is funded by people like you. We could have taken VC funding, but we both know that would ruin everything we stand for! So we kindly ask: can you help sustain our mission to keep Pixelfed independent? No ads. No tracking. No investors. Just us and you. Can't donate? A boost helps too 💜 https://www.patreon.com/dansup https://opencollective.com/pixelfed https://liberapay.com/pixelfed #pixelfed

Imagine if creators could earn money on Pixelfed. Not with ads or selling your data. But with ethical forms of monetization, like donations/gifts, subscriptions, and more. A small portion would go to admins who run the server. Just imagine. 😉 #pixelfed #ethicalMonetization

Nobody owns email. Nobody should own your social life either. When you want to show someone why they should join the fediverse, show them this: https://fediverse.info/why #fediverse #activitypub

The hardest part of joining the fediverse is the first 10 minutes. https://fediverse.info fixes that. Browse the Apps directory to pick a platform, the People directory to find folks to follow, and Starter Kits to build a feed fast. All discovery is opt-in. You only show up if you choose to. #fediverse #mastodon #misskey #pixelfed #peertube #lemmy #loops

Pixelfed is made by people. Pixelfed is shaped by people. Pixelfed belongs to people. Thank you to everyone who spoke out about AI-generated contributions. You showed us how much this matters, and we should have asked you sooner. No single person defines this project. We define it together. And together, we're building the social web we want to see.
