If HTTP status codes are so good - then why do they end at 599 already? HTTP 600 too much fun HTTP 667 off by one

Still work in progress! But you can now enjoy this and the previous two years of #NixCon #NixOS as an animated #plymouth #linux theme. Tested on Intel and qemu so far. Including webgl based live browser preview and a copy/pasteable flake example is at the bottom. Made with codex. Let me know if you gave it a try https://nix-plymouth-480ed7.gitlab.io/?year=2026&appearance=auto&brand=nixcon-logo&size=1920x1080&state=boot#preview

https://my.nixos.today Hello #NixCon, no lightning talk for me but enjoy a ridiculous selection of Linux boot themes - including the this + past two years and some selected shadertoy themes. Customly hacked together plymouth patched - codex made #NixCon2026 #NixOS

Seems stalwart is having some "enthusiasts" on GitHub that are mostly behaving rude and entitled. People fight over Dockerfiles over there 😆

@sinza hmmm interesting to know! I wonder what the lowest possible footprint is, `cryptsetup benchmark` might give some clues for low-memory methods. Key derivation function might also be something that has negative impacts on unlocking memory footprint

Really enjoying Kubernetes for the most part. Also the level of abstraction is just super cool, being able to operate on that level with resources and also the resource definitions themselves is just wonderfully powerful

Best part about good tools like NixOS are the daily appreciations you get to experience.

did u know, #systemd can now run #docker images natively, kinda it's really nice just needs two commands: sudo importctl --class=machine pull-oci docker.io/library/alpine:latest alpine sudo systemd-nspawn -M alpine /usr/bin/env sh -l thank you @pid_eins, I've spent several days/weeks in the past implementing this myself with hoops calling system-nspawn with my own docker layer overlayfs/bindmounts. Really hyped replacing this with that work.
