23-48, great start to the #EPRC #ChampionsCup pool stage, even against a weak Clermont. Generally positive play, very few penalties or handing errors. More of this sort of thing! #CLEvLEI

14 years ago I was one of the organisers of an invite only event that was definitely the best one I've ever been involved in. Happy Anniversary to the wonderful, amazing and lovely @shevyf All my love forever!

So sure, there need to be ongoing discussions about how disclosure is coordinated and done, and there are many lessons to learn from this story. But also, fuck the people who leaked this ahead of time and turned what was going to be a complicated day for lots of folks into a nightmare. https://thephp.foundation/blog/2026/10/21/todays-php-security-release-and-how-were-strengthening-php-security/

It's difficult to express just how angry this makes me. Decisions made by men in suits who can't see past the next quarter and the myth of maximising shareholder value. No studio is perfect, but Bioware did so much, and could have done so much more. https://www.theverge.com/games/1015647/ea-is-shutting-down-bioware

Anyone upset by the DRCC ad and the notion that children have exactly the same 100% right to consent or not consent as adults needs to take a good hard look at themselves. Grandparents are often (usually?) awesome to their grandkids, but that's entirely beside the point. Asking, and respecting the answer, costs nothing and shows love.

Tick-tock, it's the most wonderful Saturday night/Sunday morning of the year (in Europe)! Extra hour in bed, which seems most welcome with the weather outside!

This evening is the IGA Charity Auction at #Gaelcon and we have lots of lovely lots, many of which are rare or even unique! All in aid of Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland and the Ripple Effect!

Over €8500 raised in the IGA Charity Auction. Amazing vibe from everyone. Thank you so much to all who donate, all who support me in doing the hard work while I do an unscripted 2 hour stand up gig, and especially all those who bid!

Good morning and welcome to the "oh dear holy god, why?" edition of getting up to fly to a #RIPE meeting. #RIPE93b to be precise. I made my choices, and I'm happy with them all, but if much prefer to be asleep. Off we go to FRA then SOF!

The Security Working Group session at #RIPE93 is taking place at 1400UTC/1600EET today. Lots of good content and some policy discussion! https://ripe93.ripe.net/programme/meeting-plan/sessions/137/ and you can follow along online for free via https://ripe93.ripe.net/

It wouldn't matter if it was just 1 Orangeman looking to parade down the Garvaghy Road. The community have made their wishes perfectly clear, and what the Orange order basically wants to do is hold their hand up really, really close to the community's face and say "I'm not touching you" only a million times worse.

Lovely ceremony today with the church not just full but overflowing with friends and family there to remember Dave, to mourn him and to celebrate his life. A fitting send off and he will be long, long remembered. #GNUDaveRoe

It's the last #URC regular season match today, #LEIvOSP. A win puts Leinster 2nd in the URC ahead of the European final next week. Ye gods, that wasn't my expectation after the first few matches of the season! Glad I was wrong.

Kickstarter should really have a limit on how long someone should be able to send you a project update. This thought brought to you by suddenly getting an update from Amanda Palmer on a project from 8 years ago and she can FRO.

Last Irish match of the #W6N is #IREvSCO and Ireland have made a great start, scoring more than a point a minute at 30m in front of a record crowd!

Off to #RIPE92 in sunny Edinburgh. Looking forward to a great meeting and, most importantly, hanging out with some of the coolest folks to ever run the Internet!

I've heard many "welcome to my city" dignitary speeches over the years. I think the Lord Provost of Edinburgh may have just given one of the best ones at #RIPE92, nothing particularly novel, but delivered in an very good style!

@sash 's #RIPE92 talk on vulnerabilities, <marquee> tags and responsible disclosure was excellent and you should absolutely watch it on ripe92.ripe.net (it'll be up there in about 5 minutes).

Haggis (and tattie scones!) finally arrived in the coffee break food at #RIPE92. So very tasty, but probably good for me they haven't appeared at every break! (The food at the EICC has been tasty overall, if not particularly exciting.)

#LEIvBOR has kicked off and this is going to be a huge match. Bordeaux have to be the favourites, but #COYBIB! #EPRC

Well, that's not the result I wanted, at all. A fifth lost final, but grats to Bordeaux, absolutely dominant throughout the championship. Can't see Leinster getting stronger next season given who's leaving, but sure you never know! #LEIvBOR #ERPC

Ah, no! Just hearing the news that the wonderful Ian Watson has died. Ian was full of the joys of everything, especially European fandom, and he will be sadly, sadly missed. My love to all his friends and family.
