I am Uncomfortably Excited about my workbench build. Two 2x10 boards for the top, with legs made from 1x4. Just applying Boiled Linseed Oil on exposed wood surfaces now. It's 8 ft long, so will cover most of the back wall of the garage. A later project will be to build storage overhead. #maker

@annaecook I have an original Palm Pilot here somewhere, I think it's actually U.S. Robotics, not 3Com or Palm. I used it for organization, but also to read ebooks. I wrote a script to convert text from Project Gutenberg to a format that the device could understand.

I've attached the legs to my workbench, flipped it upright, and begun finishing the top with Boiled Linseed Oil. It fits along the back of my garage wall, between a table saw and the steps into the house. Later, I plan to add storage on the wall behind and above it. #maker

I feel like I've been really good this September at completing tasks on my list. At the same time, I feel like the task list has grown. I think this is some sort of commentary on existence, or something.

I just spent the afternoon building three cat trees without instructions. (They were moved here from another home). The cats better appreciate it!

In 3.75 years, my solar panels have generated at least 42.795 MWh of clean electricity. It's actually more, but I'm missing about 10 weeks of monitoring data. I can likely recover most of it from my electrical CT monitors, I just haven't done that yet. My system is a 7.7 kW inverter, with 3 strings of 33 panels total. I wish I could get another string facing southwest, but my roof would make that very difficult.

I've been working out consistently for 7 weeks now. Recovery was taking longer (too many days!) but I changed up some things in the workout (mostly more rest between sets), and increased daily calories and specifically protein. Now recovery seems more reasonable. I'm still trying to dial in the routine, but it's almost there. So if something's not working, step back and make changes!

There's nothing quite like putting away all the summer stuff to really make you realize that winter is not far away.
