It's our birthday next month and we'll be doing Mirlo Mondays a little differently during the festivities. With that in mind, we'd love to hear from labels who've set up shop on Mirlo, plus any musicians and bands selling physical merch through Mirlo. You can reply to this post or tag us! 💿🐦‍⬛ #Music #Musicians #Merch #Mirlo #Labels

"Water & Tools" is an exploration that follows Canadian multi-instrumentalist Jairus Sharif all over the place. From spacey modal saxophone to skronked-out fuzz, the album documents a wide range of expression, moving from one sound to another with abandon. 👁️🐦‍⬛ https://mirlo.space/jairus/release/water #Music #Experimental #Jazz #Noise #MirloMondays

Over the weekend, one of our Mirlo Stewards thought that they might quietly celebrate the 10th anniversary of their first solo album, but Mirb’s got other ideas and we’re going to share it with you for #MirloMondays! This is the breathtaking “No Answers No” by @MOWUKIS. Find it on Mirlo. 💿🐦‍⬛You might also recognise the third track from watching @TIBtv... https://mirlo.space/mowukis/release/no-answers-no #Music #Musicians #Anniversary #Album #Release #NewMusic #MusicDiscovery

This week, we're recommending an instrumental release by Maxime Pem, which blends the towering, epic synths you'd expect from early M83 with the acoustic rawness of "Is This Desire?" era PJ Harvey, plus a bit of trip-hop thrown in for good measure. 👀🐦‍⬛ Listen here: https://mirlo.space/maximepem/release/explosive-head-syndrome- #mirlomondays #music #musicians #musicdiscovery

We're time travelling to 2022 for #MirloMondays this week, to bring you an alt-rock track by @waxlimbs that twists and turns towards an unexpected destination and that sounds like it could be the cinematic, sonic touchstone of a legendary battle in front of a gothic castle or a stormy city skyline. 🏰🥊🐦‍⬛ https://mirlo.space/waxlimbs/release/seer #Music #Musicians

We are open source, cooperatively-run, community-led and in the process of joining the social web. We're also working collaboratively with others in the space towards different modes of decentralisation, going against enshittification and one-size-fits-all approaches. If you'd like to support our work and help allocate more resources towards these things, there are several ways to do so at the link below. Thank you! 💪🐦‍⬛ https://mirlo.space/team/tip #SupportUs #Fediverse #Suppo...

The first #MirloMondays pick for August is just a single track, but really reflects our editorial ethos. We’ll let the artist explain:

“I am choosing to let this song exist where it can be seen, imperfect as it may be, because existing where we can be seen, imperfect as we are, is sort of the whole point.” A hidden gem from brainfogg. Listen below.

Hey everyone! We've seen an overwhelming amount of interest over the weekend and our servers have been absolutely straining to keep up. We've pushed some code to optimize things, but at the current rate we have to shell out some money for better memory on the servers, although we can't really afford to. If you are able to help pitch in, please head over to https://mirlo.space/team/support Thank you and we really do appreciate all of your support! ❤️🐦‍⬛ #Music #Musicians #Fundraisin...

What is "Baião"? What about "Carimbó" or "Frevo"? We'll find the answers in Northeastern Brazil, where Juliana Cantarelli Vita & Schuyler Whelden have found sonic inspiration in their work as musicians and musicologists.
