Your daily chalice lighting: For the days that come unmarked, carrying their weight quietly — a diagnosis, a first day, a last day, election day, a door closing, a door opening onto a room we hadn't imagined. And for the days that belong to all of us — the days freedom was written into law, the days it was clawed back, the days ordinary people refused to look away. To notice is a discipline. To celebrate is a practice. To gather and say aloud this mattered is how we stitch memory into...

Well, on this quiet, rainy Sunday it's a tough choice for a sports fan. I can watch the U.S. lose the President's Cup or watch the :commanders: Commanders lose their home opener and third straight. I think perhaps an afternoon nap might be in order.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but #NFL #football is being ruined by chronically bad officiating. There are some bad officials but mostly bad rules imho. They need to gather a committee of HOF players and work out some critical rule changes. Which rules do you recommend to be changed? A) pass interference B) holding C) pass reception D) overtime

Who's watching "The Diplomat" on Netflix? I've just finished season 4 and I'm enthralled. It's mesmerizing. The writing and acting performances are superb. Is it really about Trump and what's happening inside the US Govt? The parallels are almost titillating. This is one of the smartest political dramas I've seen in, . . . forever maybe. #tv #politicaltv #netflix #thediplomat

The next time you cry out in anguish and ask why we have a President with the emotional and intellectual capacity of an 8 year old boy (as I often do) remember the real answer. It's not because he was better on the economy or immigration or any other policy issue. It's because he was the only white man on the ballot. #trump #uspolitics #fascism #democracy #elections #racism
