Will AppleCare One *Family* lure @siracusa back or is this a Lucy and the football situation and he now knows better?

Apologies, I somehow turned off updates to @nhc_atlantic_bot - there was a brief window where checking the RSS feed was getting stopped by cloudfront so I turned it off to see if it would resolve (and it did) but I never turned the cron job back on. It’s up and running again (no storms in the Atlantic now), but it missed posting anything about the short-lived Dolly or Edourard.

Post-Tropical advisories have a different XML structure/order so my brittle code for @nhc_atlantic_bot crashed as it expected HTML it could parse in the graphics description which wasn’t there. (among other issues) Should be working again! I’m trying to save the raw XML when it crashes so I can write tests for edge cases.

New post! I looked into Google’s dubious claims in their “Gemini on Google cloud” ad about the full moon’s effect on certain, shall we say, niche baseball stats. Calling it p-hacking is a bit of an insult to p-hacking because they couldn’t even find statistically significant results. https://marcoshuerta.com/posts/full-moon-myth/ #baseball #MLB #DataScience #FullMoon
