  Last night, I found out that a very dear friend, whom I'd known for 30 years, had... taken their leave, recently, and I'm feeling broken and numb. Friends, no matter how low things get, please, please, PLEASE reach out to someone - anyone - if you are feeling like you're not strong enough to keep on keeping on. There ARE people who care for you, even if your situation and/or brain chemicals try to tell you otherwise.

  It's been a week since I learned of my friend's death, and I am still "OK but not really great". I keep thinking, "If only..." If only he had reached out... If only I had made even more of an effort to try to get in touch sooner... If only he hadn't succeeded... If only he know how deeply his friends loved him and would fight the armies of fucking Mordor to save him...

  So... a lot's happened since my last post. (Though, if we're friends on FB or bsky, you probably already know that.) I leveled up to Level 50 Human, this spring, and took myself on a trip to mark this auspicious occasion. I went to Iceland, Finland, and Estonia, and then was very sad to have to return to the United States... I've upped my arting, and have done several First Fridays.
