I cannot fathom how Spotlight breaks so consistently. There must not be Mac users within Apple. I have had issues with it not indexing the Applications directory for .. you know .. applications on all my Macs off and on since late Intel era. This M2 Air was fine for a long time but Tahoe seems to have unfixed it.

The first conference report is in this podcast. Recorded during the event apparently. I don't know what they say yet because they are still on the news in my ears. https://macromayhem.fm/6 #elixir #goatmire

Our conference report has been written. It is insufficient. Please tell us your favorite parts of whatever this was. https://underjord.io/goatmire-2-odins-folly.html We struggle to find enough words. #goatmire #elixir

Goatmire had 3 distinct original pieces of music composed for it. This was Tom Petterson, Ellyse Cedeno and I believe involved Sam Aaron for some collaboration. And it was all initially caused by Flora Petterson. These were all performed at various points on the electromechanical orchestra Flora had prototyped and we'd built out together. #goatmire #elixir

Goatmire had ~30 speakers covering a very wide gamut of topics and styles. I've consistently heard that the level of talks was outstanding. Our speakers should be proud. #goatmire #elixir

There were 14.5 workshops that actually took place at Goatmire. We lost two to illness. We regained half an AI workshop due to ingenuity from attendees. This was a phenomenal start to the conference. #goatmire #elixir

Not only did they sponsor the conference. Not only do they help you fix your cloud platforms. They also write conference reports! Thanks Ellie 💖 https://beamops.co.uk/blog/goatmire-2026-review #goatmire #elixir

Best behind-the-scenes captures of Goatmire's orchestra and vocal training so far. Ellyse was a phenomenal contributor and collaborator throughout. So glad she wrote this up. https://ellyxir.com/posts/goatmire-2026/ #goatmire #elixir

A USB library for Nerves and another one for the SONY MiniDisc. What in the slop-goblins is going on here? https://github.com/lawik/circuits_usb I was restless coming out of work, into vacation and just twitching over to my phone constantly so I started a little effort. Claude Code instance to exercise Fable on my computer and then /remote-control to use it on my phone. #elixir

@victor oh, that is something that can totally make my life worse any day now. Ivory is pretty flat, dense and a bit custom it seems to me. I could see how making it Liquid would be tricky without doing all the wasted space it usually involves.

Alembic are some of my favorite co-conspirators. Beyond their deep expertise in Ash they are just invested and knowledgeable in the ecosystem. They care deeply and provide a lot of maintainer hours. Look out for James Harton's robots and Rebecca Le unfurling the Elder Scrolls during this Goatmire. https://goatmire.com/sponsor/alembic #elixir #goatmire

Need to get some control of the cloud that you run your Elixir on? This is the crew. BEAMOps are showing up for Goatmire with two workshops that would normally be paid corporate training. https://goatmire.com/sponsor/beamops #elixir #goatmire

Since I don't know how this library will evolve I rebranded from circuits (established, trusted, serious) to bodge (pragmatic, non-beautiful, inelegant). And I put them on Hex. So introducing: https://hex.pm/packages/bodge_usb Talks to USB devices on Linux. https://hex.pm/packages/bodge_usb_gadget Implements USB devices on Linux. #elixir

Currently looking for companies willing to chip in to support the next EEF stipend for Bart's awesome work on Hologram. Either contact me to have the EEF manage the stipend, milestones and follow-through or contact Bart directly to support him more hands-on. https://youtu.be/qqpNovT7cys?is=xJ2lNtDINoaHzN-x #elixir

@imyke the stuff Claude is useful for sometimes.. I never remember the name Bellroy when thinking about bags. But I remember who talked about it. Claude was also very clear that you did not switch entirely away from Peak Design for all items.

Watching ticket sales for your event is nerve-wracking. But just had a nice 9-ticket bump from a company that seem to be bringing a whole-ass team. On that note, if you want to do Goatmire, there won't be one next year and we don't know when the final ticket-buying rush starts. We'll be packing the place to the limit so when full, it is completely full. https://goatmire.com/ #elixir #goatmire

@viticci I wonder if you'd prefer KDE to whatever the Ubuntu default is these days. It is a relatively cohesive experience. It doesn't try to be MacOS. It definitely isn't Windows. And it has a lot to offer for power users without sending you into the terminal constantly. Quite easy to try via Kubuntu. I'd be curious to hear how you like it. Not affiliated, just prefer it personally.

Rather than using "AI" you can actually _do_ AI/ML. The math, the code, the whole thing. Way fancier than writing text prompts. Alvise is coming to Goatmire to show you how with a proper ML workshop. https://www.goatmire.com/talk/demystifying-ml-and-ai #goatmire #elixir

Days working on the Sentry SDK and the rest of the time spent thinking about and working on agents. Peter Solnica is an OG in the Ruby community, has been doing Elixir for a long time now and will be bringing his perspectives on coding agents and Elixir. https://goatmire.com/talk/i-see-dead-agents We were very selective about AI and agent talks for Goatmire, we think you'll find the ones we picked interesting whether you appreciate the bots or not. #goatmire #elixir
