I haven’t been active on here as of late. I’m feeling a bit burned out, and interactions have been exhausting. But, I think the Fediverse would like my photo of what I think are some phenomenal moss and lichen spotted during a hike in early autumn! #Mosstodon #Lichen

Beautiful mushrooms, but these have cropped up in my yard (seemingly originating from my neighbour’s lawn). They appear to be ringless honey mushrooms. How worried should I be for my trees, shrubs, and garden? We’ve been working hard to plant a bunch of native Ontario species to support the insects and birds. #Mushtodon #Mycology #Fungiverse

@stephanie Truly such breathtaking photos! It was also great to hear how you had places in the Peninsula largely to yourselves given the tourist season is over!

Ironically, our article examining heightened political stress longitudinally in a Canadian sample due to the 51st State rhetoric got rejected (after several months under review) today… on Canada Day! If anyone has a good journal suggestion, it’s much appreciated as it is struggling to find a good home! Edited to add relevant tag: #AcademicChatter

Me: Stopped to take a photo of fungi Fellow Hiker: What did you find? Me (excitedly): Dead man’s fingers! Fellow Hiker: … Mum worried about the pause: The fungi! #Mastodon #Fungiverse #Mushrooms

Only upon reviewing the photo, to my surprise, a slug who was feasting on the mushroom was peering out from underneath! #Mushtodon #Fungiverse

More photos from yesterday’s humid hike where so many #mushrooms (and slime moulds) were seen! #Mushtodon #Fungiverse

I’d always see the blue-green stain of decaying wood, but never got to see the actual mushroom responsible for the staining! What a phenomenal colour! #MushroomMonday #Mushtodon #Fungiverse #Mushroom #Sporespondence
