Big D8->D9->D10 upgrade of a commerce project and managed to thoroughly paint myself into a corner. Thankfully @joachim's module release notes had the right amount of info and instructions to uncornerpaint myself. ReleaseNotes++ πŸ’™

Whoa. The Wordpress State of the Community 2026 (released by @thewpcommunitycollective) is quite brutal on WP leadership (shocker, I know, right?). https://thewpocc.org/press-release-the-wp-open-community-collective-releases-state-of-the-community-2026-report/

Every once in a while I stumble upon insightful and non-mainstream Drupal things. Invariably, JP Stacey was there. Way ahead of me. Formulating the things I struggle to put into words. πŸ–€

Hi folks, I'm looking for blogs by real people who use their own brain and write about Drupal things. Technical articles, developer journeys, bits of Today-I-Learned, and other little nuggets of wisdom. No agency promotional stuff, nothing by or about AI, and no enterprise thinkpieces. Just people doing fun or interesting stuff with Drupal (building, coding, sysadminning, ...) Drupal Planet is 90% of NOT what I'm looking for. If you can help me find what's missing, t...

Sometimes you're getting so deep into the Views rabbit hole to get the output you need, that you're starting to doubt your own sanity. That's when you know you should have coded a custom route and callback 2 hours ago.

The whole Makers & Takers analogy starts to crumble when Makers tether themselves to the machine and become Takers-by-Proxy.

Heh. If you copy a URL and then highlight text in a Drupal WYSIWYG area and then hit paste, you get a link! No need to highlight -> click link button -> paste into modal. I never knew! How long has *that* been there? 🀯

Hiya, #git question for yall. I'm trying to figure out when a certain core code changes was released. For instance: in D11 on /admin/structure/types/manage/article/display there is now an "overview" tab that lists all view modes. I think I traced this to the following line: https://git.drupalcode.org/project/drupal/-/blob/main/core/modules/node/src/Hook/NodeHelpHooks.php?blame=1#L91 But "branches" only lists "main" and "...

@drupalassoc DrupalCan shows you have considered organising a smaller event outside the US. Was it so unpalpable to skip a year or two in the US and work on two smaller ones in Canada? Can the Drupal Association actually survive without DrupalCon USA revenue? If not, then maybe that should be front and center instead of ehticalwashing the Orlando choice.

"Two supply chain attacks in two weeks. Both followed the same pattern. Buy a trusted plugin with an established install base, inherit the #WordPress.org commit access, and inject malicious code. [...] WordPress.org has no mechanism to flag or review plugin ownership transfers." I wonder if the Drupal marketplace folks have considered ownership transfer issues... https://anchor.host/someone-bought-30-wordpress-plugins-and-planted-a-backdoor-in-all-of-them/

Currently debugging a set of opensource tools for automatic backyard bird detection using a Raspberry Pi. Amazing as the tool is (it works!), it's an unholy goulash of procedural PHP, Python, and bash scripts. I know we all like to swear at Drupal's code sometimes, but it's *immaculate* compared to this thing. It pays off to leave the island once in a while. Puts things in perspective.

Given that the average snooker club table is not 100% level and does not have a cloth without dirt and other obstacles, it's super frustrating to work on your snooker technique when you're not sure if you're doing it wrong, or if it's the table. Not unlike when you're writing custom Drupal code and it's not working and you're not sure if you're doing it wrong, or it's Drupal (core/contrib/...).
