https://temper.one is now being used for the Davis Prize (https://davisprize.org). After MingKwai Discovery (https://mingkw.ai) and the KBI UX Incubator (https://kbiux.org, available until a few days ago), this is the third Stanford-related initiative using temper. temper seems to be popular over there at Stanford University! :)

Just rediscovered this cute little promo graphic for the Fictional soft release in 2021. Get Fictional at https://jonastype.com/fictional!

Look at me, I’m actually behind on documenting finished projects for my portfolio and social media. For the first time ever, I think! Does this mean I’m finally getting better at prioritizing? Or am I just becoming less organized? Who knows!

Happy to have Indicate Mono Condensed featured in #Typodarium 2027! Thanks to the publisher Verlag Hermann Schmidt and the art director Julia Uplegger, and thanks to Julien Fincker for the beautiful photographs!

A little insight into how I manage to add new sites to https://collected.li almost every day alongside other work. 1. The public collection is a mirror of my personal collection. I’m collecting anyway, so why not make it public? 2. The technical process is automated. I add a link to an Are.na channel with two clicks using a browser extension, and the API handles the rest.

Can’t find that post right now but I wished for a more customizable select element in HTML a while ago, and apparently, it’s here now: https://blog.master.dev/new-things-you-should-know-about-html-here-in-mid-2026/#the-select-element

I hate that sharing Google Maps links is the standard for sharing locations in my circle of friends. As long as there’s no universal map link standard, just send me the name or address and I can look it up myself.

slideFrame in action for “ICF – Inclusion and Collaboration for the Future”, a collaborative project by Universität Erfurt and Hochschule Nordhausen offering an interactive digital platform to learn the WHO ICF framework. Shoutout to my friend @Chrtz, who adapted slideFrame’s functionality to also power internal content for this project. Great work! 👏 Explore ICF → https://icf-lernen.de Get slideFrame (open source) → https://getslideframe.com

Nice to see Scope used throughout the BoKoMaT event for the second time! The colloquium took place in September 2025 at Ruhr University Bochum.

Observation: Some of the briefings I get sent for potential design/dev projects became much more extensive and detailed in the last 1–2 years, often including adjacent tasks that are not typically part of my service offering, and loads of nice-to-haves. I think this is AI influence. If I quote according to all the demands in these briefings, the quote gets unrealistically high quickly. As a result, more communication work is needed nowadays to get to a realistic agreement for both sides.

Just had an enlightenment about CSS View transitions. They are much more powerful than I thought AND much easier to use! You really only have to give your element a unique view-transition-name. This has to be consistent across all pages the element appears on. That’s it!

Just launched a portfolio site for illustrator Jacco Bunt → https://jaccobunt.com Built with @getkirby. Typeset in Indicate Mono, my WIP monospace typeface.

Built a fun detail into the new https://jaccobunt.com portfolio site: the navigation animates from a collage layout on the homepage to a clean top bar on subpages, using CSS view transitions.
