This year we're staying an Korea for the summer so we decided to try Glamping which is glamorous camping and it's amazing! We're also lucky to have such amazing weather, no humidity no heat, no rain, very uncommon for this part of the year. I recorded a short video: https://tube.jeena.net/w/2wfHrh7UxMexT5Vi3ME6zb

Taday is the day we move in to our first own house. My parents own houses but this is the first time I co own it with my wife. It's not far away about 9km from here so our daughter can keep going to the same school but our little one has to switch kindergarten for the first time. It's an investment but at the same time we want to move in while our children still can enjoy living in a one family home before they are too big and move out.

I lost my korean drivers license. So I went to the place where they make a new one for you. It was so fast I couldn't believe it. 10 minutes between arriving and holding it in my hands, and it only took so long because I don't speak korean. And I had to queue in two lines, explaing what I need in English, fill out a form in Korean (they helped me on every step) and wait for it to be printed and initialized, i payed 15.000 KRW

A photo of me playing bass in 2001 ended up in the Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grunge_(fashion) (I'm the first picture in the gallery) I had no idea I'm a fashion icon! We were playing [Hamburger Schule](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamburger_Schule_(Popmusik)) music not specifically grunge though :D

Half a year ago we got some sidewalk chalk from my sister in Germany. Today we finally used it infront of our own home! Let's see what the neighbours will say, I have no idea how the Koreans will react to it, I haven't seen any other children using it here.

When I went to Germany a coupple of month ago I went to Rossman and they sold very cheap glasses, I think like for 3 € or so and just for fun I put them on. But when I looked at my phone through them I was really surprised how sharp everything was. By pure luck I grabbed the ones which fir my own eye sight, so I bought them. And I didn't think it would be such a change but I love them, they make it possible for me to read without squinting and holding... via https://jeena.net/notes/14...

I'm in a beginner Korean language course and it's 90% woman here, mostly in their late 20s and 30s. When I was in the Swedish one it was about 50% each gender. I didn't realize it, but it seems mostly guys importing women from abroad here in torra, not so much the other way around. Anecdotical evidence only, obviously but I think it's not far from truth,

About 13 years ago I made https://jeena.net/catdog using machine learning algorithms to classify pictures to decide if we’re looking at a cat or a dog. Now that Jev came out the decision models are all the rage. I’m struggling to quite understand how different they are from what I did as a student in 2013. Is the big difference that I don’t need to manually choose the features to extract and do the preperation of the raw images? Or is there really something fundamentally new to their approach?

We went to the circus today, it was a lot of fun, they had one big bird flying over our heads, magic tricks and this woman hanging from the ceiling.

I just had my first encounter with a racist person here in Korea. It's probably no coincidence that it is happening now that I'm starting to learn the language, before that I probably just blended them out because I didn't understand what they were saying anyway. It was a guy in his sixties, saying something about that here is Korea and that it's for Korean people. He also was saying something about my shoes, I have my Birkenstock on because it's very war...

Four years ago, we went to visit my sister in Switzerland. There my wife found seeds to plant and she bought a bunch of them, even though we didn't have anywhere to plant them. But this year we bought a house with a garden and finally we had some place to plant them. So even though it was already September, she planted those seeds and now this is after one and a half months what came out of it mid-October. Our first harvest!
