@GrahamLester I am sure the search works (haven’t tried it though) but the issue is that if I see somebody with similar interests (who I often know from Twitter) and they follow say 100 people of which I would probably follow quite a few too, I can only see a handful of them (those on @econtwitter). That makes it really hard to follow interesting accounts…

Looks like Elon Musk’s wealth is currently dropping at a much faster rate than Twitter burning money…

Is it just me or is it really hard to find people here on Mastodon due to its decentralised nature? That‘s my biggest pain point so far…

@econ_martens well, some sort of federated search would help?

@rmayemsinger @rbreich@masthead.social given who apparently at least gives Mastodon a look this could actually work!

Is search just for your #mastodon instance or also for the whole #fediverse? Local search only makes little sense…

@rbreich Musk apparently also managed to completely destroy what many people wanted for various reasons - verification. I have been verified for years but it is quickly turning into a sort of stigma…

That other place is going downhill fast!

Still don’t get it. If I look at the 2k plus ppl for instance @jon follows, I can only see 60 or so. The ones that happen to be in my instance? Is there a way to see them all to find people I could follow too?

@jon in the browser it looks like all contacts show up. But why is this so messed up? If you can see contacts in the browser why not in a client? The Fediverse doesn’t seem to be very federated…
