@glennf Thanks for all the guidance in Take Control of Your Apple Account (a title which I wouldn’t have believed could be a book 10 years ago but here we are). In case you want to note it, the thing blocking me from migrating my purchases & subs from my 2nd account was: I had TestFlight apps subscribed in the primary account. Canceling each TestFlight in the Testflight app got the elusive Migrate Purchases button to appear—per an Apple Support rep suggestion.

@dmoren Thanks for your iOS 27 review. It was just the right level of detail - I want to understand what’s what, to make the most of the—not if but when—upgrade. And it helps with the when. Same for Jason’s GG piece. #ios27 #journalism

I appreciate the various workaround efforts, but if it’s on X, I’m perfectly content never to see it. Likewise for EVs (VW ID.4 here) and satellite internet.

The US Supreme Court decided against democracy today. Everybody had better keep an eye on their voter registration. And please follow reported, edited, fact-checked, and corrected news. Yes, mainstream news still works. #scotus

When did the Mac Downloads folder start syncing to iCloud with iCloud Drive turned off? I’d like to disable this. So far, the only option seems to use a different folder for downloads. (on Sequoia) #icloud

So, we got zero meaningful reforms of ICE/CBP, which already has enough funding from last year’s bill to run for years. Do I have that right?

No “Strategy Breakdowns,” I have not wondered why I buy the Apple products I buy. I do wonder why you have put spam in my inbox. #spammer

Instead of cancelling something, today I’m subscribing to WIRED magazine. They continue to frankly report on politics and realities in tech today, and restated their commitment in this Katie Drummond editorial. (ironically, I can only find it on Apple News+’s page-by-page magazine edition) https://apple.news/AlRnIwnkDROuTjFPR472h6w https://www.wired.com/subscribe/ #wiredmagazine

@pj Pulled up theforkiverse.com in the kitchen while listening via incognito mode. Thanks for following through on fediverse reporting—fun episode, well explained. A followup might cover all the other fedi app types. You could even stream an episode recording session on Owncast (what’s the worst that could happen? :-) Enjoy your no-algo feed. #fediverse #journalism #searchenginepodcast

Partying at the White House on Saturday night was unacceptable. I’m re-evaluating my relationship with my once-favorite corporation. Not that they’ll notice, but all subscriptions except minimal iCloud canceled. #apple
