We'll bummer. We made it four years into the pandemic and managed to stay #COVID free. Until yesterday when my lovely wife tested positive. Since we had been on a road trip crammed into the car for several days previous, I suspect it's just a matter of time for me too.

What Digby said. https://digbysblog.net/2024/08/26/the-act-is-getting-old/. This also seems to be true in Michigan where we are visiting my very Trumpy mother in law. The neighborhood was all crazy Trump in 2020. It's very quiet and about evenly split between Trump and Harris now.

Yesterday, coming home from the airport there was a major traffic jam in the opposite direction backing traffic up for miles as people return to Seattle from the mountains. In the traffic I spotted a number of EVs including a couple of Cybertrucks. I was wondering how those vehicles do stuck in slow moving traffic for hours? This jam was around 30 miles of very slow traffic (stop and go) with few ways off the highway.

@thegibson I recommend a hifi streamer with a HiFiberry DAC https://www.hifiberry.com/. We're running old Squeezebox hardware now, but when it starts to go, this is my plan.
