  @transience Thoughtful stuff. I'm sure many share these feelings in their own way. I'd be curious how they manage the deluge, the overload, of crass self-interest all about us. Just tonight I was ruminating on how everyone today seems so stuck in their own little bubble of woe and entitlement, how difficult it has become to help them understand pain or loss without them actually having feel it themselves to grow aware their own incredible good fortune.

  Just finished this one. A couple of factual inaccuracies (no, 'G' in physics does not mean 100 times your weight - it is earth's gravitational constant 'g' in this context, and yes, chimps do actually teach one another), plus some idiocy no fault of the author (chimps don't understand 'zero' dear researchers, true, but neither did humans until a millennium or so ago)... Meanwhile, our PM coddles an-oil-industry-intoxicated Alberta toward adding a million barrels a day to our contribution.   Here's a place in Southwest Ontario hosting tribute bands for those of longer aged vintages. Anything from swing to near-contemporary (meaning the 90's and early-aughts). I've seen one show: commendable, if workmanlike, periodically corny, touching, and, therefore, inevitably formulaic, if well-organized. I didn't not enjoy it. This morning, I migrated from github to Codeberg (https://codeberg.org/), integrating the latter with VS Codium (this move negating MS github surveillance). Got an email from Equifax (who exposed zillions of records to hackers not long ago if memory serves), the gist of which was: 'Nice credit rating you got there.
