  Do you think, when we dream, we experience a dream progressively over a period of time, or do we assemble the experience whole in an instant? I am thinking of how, when a dream incorporates the thing that wakes you up, it can feel like the external stimulus traveled back in time to have always been present.   PowerDNS's absurdly pessimistically skewed log levels (0 = emergency, 1 = alert, 2 = critical, 3 = error, 4 = warning, 5 = notice, 6 = info, 7 = debug) feels like video game review scores out of 10, where any number below 7 basically means the same thing, just increasingly derogatory.

  Someone at work is literally trying to convince me that using an ORM is suboptimal compared to just writing raw database adapter code, because it's "more performant", and "the explicitness is the point" in Go.
