Really quite inspiring. Props to this town that’s really getting people of all ages to change their food waste behavior. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/01/headway/composting-food-leftovers.html

Learning an old lesson from the Tudors: Grifters gonna grift. “[A]ll royal dynasties are illegitimate. And that includes the Plantagenets and the Windsors. Time absolves nothing. It is our duty to resist the allure of the “big lie,” no matter when it happened.” See this exhibit if you can — it’s magnificent and it closes in a week. #nyc #metmuseum https://www.washingtonpost.com/arts-entertainment/2022/12/30/tudors-art-power-met/

@bobwyman true but seriously Bob run, don’t walk, to catch the exhibit!

@pburka@octodon.social I just in the past few days discovered compost bins in my neighborhood (Harlem). The code on the bin took me to a website that didn’t have the app as advertised and claimed the bins only existed downtown but here we were on 115th St looking at a bin. (Found the app in the App Store in spite of them.) Still hopeful, having never succeeded in getting a brown bin for compost pickup, despite repeated promises from DSNY. Why is resi composting such a perennial mess in NYC?

Had the enormous privilege of hearing author Tova Friedman tell her story this afternoon. What an incredible human being. The Daughter of Auschwitz https://a.co/d/7eQBYHM https://a.co/d/7eQBYHM

@erik Ooh! Given where I live and where I work this could be the change that makes it possible for me to bike to work (I live north of central park and work below midtown and I’m categorically unwilling to bike in car lanes or unsafe bike lanes on avenues). Do you know how far this change goes?
