Today's new problem. Binx discovered he can get to the beams and has traversed it at least a dozen times. #blackcat #caturday

RE: https://sunny.garden/@dustin/117417836761183605 Binx has been on a diet for years (unsuccessfully, he never really lost weight and we couldn't give him less food). Since we have lived in a house with stairs and more space to move around, he's lost just under a pound (< .45kg). He's getting in good shape running up and down the stairs and going from window to window looking at birds and bugs. With his new-found balance beam, I think he'll continue to g...

A neighbor stopped by this afternoon. About 15 minutes later, there was an erratic knocking at the door. I opened the door thinking he had returned and was knocking weirdly only to find a woodpecker on the front of the house just by the door. Not sure what to do about that 😬

@lrt_writes I've liked mine so far. There's sometimes some repeater traffic in the area around my commute time, so I listen in to get a feel for how folks use it in my area. I have used it a bit with my partner in the area around our house if I'm just walking around. I am planning on taking a pair of radios when we go camping/hiking so we can communicate when we're not directly with each other.

I was given a Praktiflex camera. They were made from 1931-1959. I know next to nothing about it. I'm hoping I can get it working and take some photos with it. I wonder if I can find a manual for it. #camera #film #vintagecamera

We have had 3-4 varied thrushes hanging around our house the last few days. They are pretty birds. They're pretty skittish and will fly off even if we walk up to the window sometimes. #birds #birding

RE: https://sunny.garden/@dustin/117498168792658671 There were at least 6 thrush at one time today! Also golden crowned kinglets, pacific wren, spotted towhee, dark eyed juncos, and red breasted nuthatches. The kinglets are so tiny! I love the sounds of the wren. We have had a bird feeder for about a month and only had infrequent visitors for most of that time until Thursday of this week. It has been very busy at the feeder since then.

Any #GMRS #radio folks? I'm thinking about getting a license and two HT for myself and others (partner, nephew, in-laws, etc) for camping, hiking, and use when we're close but separate. I'm curious if folks have strong opinions on it and which HTs to get. The btech gmrs pro looks nice, but maybe is overkill? The GMRS-V2 would probably be adequate but lacks a few of the fancy features of the pro (GPS, etc). Also, there's a 3x price difference.

My partner wants to start making terrazzo, so I might need to clean our my home office to make space for it. Also, we need to research if it's safe to do indoors. She mentioned making a small round tabletop and me making a steel base for it. Could be cool!
