From TalkingPointsMemo.com: In a bombastic social media post, Patel this week ended a training and intelligence-sharing partnership with the Anti-Defamation League. In the process, he smeared the ADL and former FBI Director James Comey, claiming “James Comey wrote ‘love letters’ to the ADL and embedded FBI agents with them – a group that ran disgraceful ops spying on Americans,” Patel posted. “That era is OVER. This FBI won’t partner with political fronts masquerading as watchdogs.” 1 of 2

Let's hear it for all the MAGA champions fighting antisemitism, like Kosh Patel! Note: my comment is bitterly satiric, if I have to make it plain. 2 of 2

NY Times: "Trump is announcing a new class of Navy ships that he is describing as “battleships.” He said he expects the U.S. government to acquire 25 of the new vessels that are expected to be called Trump-class battleships. It’s the latest example of Trump rebranding or remaking an aspect of the government in his own image." Let's see, when was it that the battleship was revealed to be too vulnerable to be effective? Oh yeah, December 7, 1941.

I am bothered by Hegseth's use of the term "warfighters." A modern army should rely upon soldiers - trained and disciplined to work as teams - not glory-seeking individualists. The days when battles are decided by hundreds of separate sword fights are long past.

Trump's agreement to drop his meritless suit against the IRS (e.g., statute of limitations had expired) includes an agreement that the government drop all tax proceedings against him, his family, and his companies. The NY Times estimates this alone may be worth as much as $100 million to him. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/19/us/politics/trump-irs-doj-lawsuit-audit.html?nl=breaking-news&segment_id=220095

Trump's DOJ is targeting E. Jean Carroll. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/27/us/politics/criminal-inquiry-e-jean-carroll-trump-accusations.html. This is wrong, horribly wrong. A jury has made a factual determination that Carroll's testimony is reliable, and now the DOJ -based on no evidence it has disclosed - wants to convince another jury that the first jury was wrong. I sincerely hope that all the lawyers at the DOJ who allow themselves to work on this case get severely sanctio...
