  I think, I'll add Bigtreetech to the very short list of companies I actively recommend. I find the 3D-printer^W STM32 breakout boards a joy to work with and as I was just dreading to copy some schematics over to #FreeCad it turns out all dimensions are sane. Like "for this edge we choose 10cm"-sane.

  Wool _will_ take 800 tpm during #spinning after all. I just need to be willing to reduce fiber count to noncredible levels (somehow the resulting yarn is actually stable).

  I have a place where I want to control up to 4 steppers but in a modular fashion, i.e. it'll be some other machine using up to 4 motors on other days. So I need a 16+ pin connector which is easy to plug in/out, ideally cheap because this is just a hobby project. After some research, the "best" option seems to be USB-C at 19 pins (at ~1 EUR with breakout board for easy soldering), with the single downside that my room will contain a USB-C port actively regulated to pus...

Kindern dabei gedacht wurde, ist raus. Und wahrscheinlich sind die nichtmal die Produzenten, sondern es gibt noch drölfzig Reseller der gleichen schlechten Idee.

  Today I replaced a $1.23/h PostgreSQL based solution with a $12.3/h DynamoDB one. (No other measurable difference on any endpoint metric we care about.) I'm a 10x engineer. \o/

  @scy@chaos.social I'm masking *a lot* these days. For mostly non-Covid reasons, i.e. pollen allergy (*). You might want to reduce your association between public masking and Covid-carefulness. *) But I'm masking in high-Covid-risks contexts because I'm used to masks anyway so for me the downside is extremely small.
