  @dznz Even though I work for a charity, I've long felt that NFPs use private (personal / corporate) philanthropy to provide services that the government should be providing. One of the bigger issues is that our scope is necessarily limited by funding, and can only be helpful to a subset of those in genuine need.

  @melissadancey Actually it's a "seppoes" (or "seppos" depending on your preferred spelling). From the rhyming slang, "septic tanks" = Yanks. Has a supposed secondary meaning, that they're either empty or they're full of s***.

  @luckytran Seems to be stating facts. Can't stop the spread when huge proportions of the population are behaving exactly as pre-pandemic. And don't the authorities have shade cast at them whenever they make bold statements ("we can stop the spread / vaxes will give you immunity") that turn out to be false?
