#WritersCoffeeClub Oct 23 - How do you make sure you deliver on your writerly promises? I promise stories, I write stories. Everything else, the readers have to take up with themselves.

#PhantastikPrompts 23. ^^

#ScribesAndMakers Oct 23 - Our next featured creator enjoys hiking. Do you enjoy being outdoors, and if so, does it have an impact on your creativity? I love being outdoors - hiking, biking, running, just sitting on the balcony. Being outdoor plays a huge part in my stories - the latest protagonist is a semi-Dryad. I often get inspired by natural color combinations for my wardrobe, and I love to craft wtih natural objects (I am not good at it).

#PennedPossibilities 1164: Bookish Delights: Have you ever read a book where you knew that one of the MCs or SCs would make a good friend of yours IRL? Yes, occasionally. Although I do not make friends easily and love being by myself.

#WordWeavers 23/10: What rule – legal, cultural, magical, social, or otherwise – does your MC regularly break? Officially, Bjarne does not exist. He showed up in the village and the villagers made sure he had everything he needed. This did not include a passport, a social security number, or a birth certificate - they decided keeping him a secret would help keep him safe. I am certain at some point this will cause trouble, but by that time he may have diplomatic immunity from such things.

#PhantastikPrompts 26.10. Wie kritisch liest du selbst? Schon ziemlich kritisch. ^^

#WordWeavers 26/10: Share a moment from your WIP when a character says one thing but means something completely different. "Did you at least put a laxative in their mead?" - "Why would I? I like flute music." Which was a lie.

#PennedPossibilities 1166. Would any of your characters actually survive a “zombie” apocalypse? Define "survive" - not be eaten during the initial outbreak? Several of them, I believe. Most of them are clever and fast. Make it to old age? Ah, probably not. Or maybe they would. Depends on too many things to be sure.

#WritersCoffeeClub October 26th How did you develop your voice? My "voice" is what I cannot stop doing. But I think I sound more like me these days, I am less afraid of sounding cringe. ^^

#ScribesAndMakers 10/26. What's something you accomplished this month that you weren't sure if you would be able to? Nothing, it's been a slow month. But I am here and doing the work, so that is good.

#WritersCoffeeClub 10/27. As a writer, what do you need right now? Time and energy. Sounds like a physics problem.

#PhantastikPrompts 27.10.

#ScribesAndMakers 10/27. Do you collect (unaltered) natural materials for projects? I rarely ever come home from the woods without new rocks, pine cones, or leaves, the occasional empty snail shell, a nice twig, ... - and sometimes I turn them into crafts projects so the guy won't notice I am basically a giant magpie looking for shiny things.

#PennedPossibilities 1167: If you have one, post a snippet involving spirits, such as a character talking to or about them. Rosalinda stopped. "Wait. Did I just see a ghost in that kitchen?" "Yes." Thomas peered around the corner, looking for witches. "That's Kitty's sister, she's the cook."

#WordWeavers 27. What location in your story would you most like to visit? What location would you absolutely avoid? I'd love to spend a few weeks (or months) in Shadows Fall, the weird Eifel village I made up for my cozy fantasy stories. Don't know whether I would want to visit the Dryad realm, though. It sounds cool, but the king is ... unhinged?

#PhantastikPrompts 21.

#WritersCoffeeClub 21/5: What targets do you set for yourself? To what frequency? I have loose targets - an ideal daily word count, finishing a story and a series, sending out a certain amount of stories for competitions each year. But it's no biggie if I don't meet my targets, they're more like inspirations. ^^

#WordWeavers #WritingCommunity 21st May 2026. How do you make your MC likeable or relatable in the first chapter? With Bjarne, that is easy - he is incredibly kind. Some people told me that Helena from an older UF series comes across as quite arrogant in the beginning (she is, she was raised as daughter of a witch and a god), but she has an interesting way of seeing things. And Andrea from the tentacle novel is miserable in her job and trying to date in her 30s, which many people relate to.

#PennedPossibilities 1020: Does your MC consider themselves to be outdoorsy or do they prefer to stay inside? Bjarne is a semi-dryad and loves to be outdoors. He does have a TV, which he rarely ever uses, and a few magazines and books he never reads. If he cannot be outside, he tinkers with the plants he grows in the back of his place.

#ScribesAndMakers May 21st What medium would you choose to depict a visual image of a lake? Can't I just write about it? Okay, okay, if that's not allowed, I'll take a few dozen snapshots and wonder why I never learned to do watercolors.

#WritersCoffeeClub May 22nd How well would your current WIP work as a play? The story itself could of course be turned into a play, but I have no idea how to go about it. I mean, by the time the river burns and the trees come to life, we'd need one hell of a special effects expert. ^^

#PhantastikPrompts 22.05. )

#WordWeavers 22. If your MC came with a warning label, what would it be? May cause sunburn and dirty nails.

#PennedPossibilities 1021 — Have you ever co-written a story before? As a teenager for fun, yes. And I have written stories set in worlds created by others. But real collaboration - I don't know if I am the person for it, I like the company of my own thoughts at the desk.

#ScribesAndMakers Which book world would you like to live in for a week, and why? A world in which I would not die at once, hmm ... so "Gideon the Ninth" is out. The "Oryx and Crake" world sounds interesting as well, but pretty dangerous. I think T. Kingfisher could drag me into any world, as long as I could cover and hide and just enjoy nature while everyone else gets to meet the monsters. (The village in "Snake Eater" sounds cozy.)

#WritersCoffeeClub May 6 – Talk about something you've written which you expected would (or expect will) divide readers. Ah what do I know? I just make things up. Some people were disappointed that there was no giant tentacle battle in "Lusty Andrea and the Hilarious Tentacles of Death". Some people thought the solution of the first cozy fantasy novel was too cozy (or not cozy enough). I believe my readers are smart, and they will think for themselves, and sometimes di...
