Heya R devs - did you know you can run all your favorite GitHub actions on Codeberg? Codeberg is rolling out Forgejo actions - an (almost) drop-in replacement for GitHub actions, which means we can (almost) use `r-lib/actions` directly on a free and open source platform! Just a couple tweaks are needed, and for your convenience I'm automatically mirroring r-lib/actions and applying those changes so they're ready to use. https://codeberg.org/r-codeberg/r-lib-actions #rlang #rstats #co...

The R Consortium’s grant cycle is rolling around (Deadline October 1st). Of course, if you have a burning idea this is the opportunity to pitch it. If you don’t and you’re an avid R developer looking to get paid for open source work, then I’d gladly support you in carrying some of my projects over the finish line 🧵 #rlang #rstats

With three months of use, I find it _tolerable_. I'm trying my damnedest to like it, which pains me to say because I would love a truly open mouse. 🧵 breakdown to follow

Noodling on a theory I had at the start of the AI wave: Aside from translation & image gen, AI software solutions are almost universally solving problems where a structured data model would solve the problem better. Of course, it takes significant thought to model these problems as data. This isn't a claim that all AI problems should be solved by data modelling, but when we are building AI systems we should be cogniscent of which deterministic problems we're approximat...
