How is this even possible? Rep. Haley Stevens, who is running for #MISen, "seemed generally impressed with the staff" at an ICE detention facility, per the @michiganadvance.com@bsky.brid.gy. At the same event, Rep. Hillary Scholten spoke of a man "being kept in a freezing room where he couldn’t feel his toes."

Stop calling the Maine Democrats' convention "hastily arranged." "Hasty" by definition means "with excessive speed." It connotes corner-cutting and a shoddy final product. Maine Dems moved quickly—because they had to—but came up with a well-organized system that worked without any issues.

Statements from Dems like this one make it harder to press for Supreme Court reform. This ruling was a near-disaster and shows how unhinged SCOTUS has become—now just one vote away from overturning the 14th Amendment. But a sitting senator says they "applaud" the ruling.

Roger Marshall charged his patients 18% annual interest on their unpaid bills. His bakery bill for $678.75 was due six years ago. At 18% interest compounded annually, the total he'd owe would be at least $1,800. Marshall just paid the bakery $1,300—far less than what his patients would owe. This move will only draw more attention to the story. Takedown notice sometimes succeed in removing third-party ads b/c stations may conclude the risks of a defamation suit are too high. But they're immune from liability for defamation for *candidate* ads, which this one is. #StreisandEffect Roger Marshall alleges defamat...

This new study from @adambonica.bsky.social@bsky.brid.gy on how Democratic spam PACs “hook and squeeze” vulnerable elderly donors is so disturbing—starting with the opening disclaimer that both the NYT & Bulwark declined to publish it after a year of legal review. Hook and Squeeze

Red-state Republicans often spam the ballot with amendments b/c it's a freebie for them. Then their opponents have to devote major resources to defeating them, even though the GOP often doesn't lift a finger once their proposals are on the ballot. In KS & MO, though, all proposals got crushed. RE: https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:alqdxbp33ceoyly2o46nvcrc/post/3msce36sj422t

Let me also add that it's not a "coronation" just because Troy Jackson did exceedingly well at the county-level meetings. This idea that he should be punished for his success *last* weekend is absurd. The only way to avoid this bad-faith criticism would have been to win fewer delegates! Come on. This is really astonishing. If someone complained about one of our headlines and I thought it had merit, I might change it—but I absolutely would not *take their suggestion* for the new headline! But imagine doing that, *and* admitting it. RE: https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:kvityvfmxlhrepqg5kugljtd/post/3mrdlh3xlfc2l

Quinn @yeargain.bsky.social@bsky.brid.gy was incredibly prescient. A month ago, he wrote a piece asking what would happen if Platner dropped out—and called attention to the looming July 13 deadline. Follow him and subscribe to his newsletter! What happens if Graham Platner...

I've felt sick all morning about this extremely near miss. The thought of "applauding" this ruling makes me even queasier. I am just baffled by the lens through which some very powerful people see the world. RE: https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:x7ajfd6mhrii5axlx254vmol/post/3mpjepkfdgc2y
