  Is it petty of me to hope that Clemson beats SMU in the ACC championship so that the ACC can get 2 teams in (Clemson champion, SMU at-large) specifically to keep 9-3 Alabama OUT of the #CFP?

  This would be a decent #CFP ranking. (it's Kelley Ford) Take this top 12 and substitute any conference champions who come from outside the top 12 dropping teams based on regular season record then current ranking. That gives the following playoff field: 1: Oregon or SEC #1 2: SEC #1 or Penn State 3: SMU / Big 12 #1 4: Big 12 #1 / Boise State 5: Oregon or SEC #2 6: SEC #2 or Penn State 7: Notre Dame 8: Indiana 9: Tennessee 10: Ohio State 11: SMU / BYU 12: Boise State / Clemson @big12
