@GottaLaff@mastodon.social he also petted someone else's dog - that's a capital offense, apparently.

@GottaLaff@mastodon.social @willbunch the news media have no right to bully her into an interview or press conference. She is doing just fine with a killer social media campaign "run by feral 25-year-olds" and they troll the GOP SO. WELL.

@GottaLaff@mastodon.social Yay! Teamwork makes the dream work.

@dan @GottaLaff@mastodon.social slightly relieved they are doing a joint interview on @CNN but ... I don't think we can trust many of their anchors (e.g. Jake Tapper, Anderson Cooper or Kasie Hunt) to ask actual un-loaded questions, even on policy.

@GottaLaff@mastodon.social I'd like to add that politicians turning on the media for NOT doing their jobs is certainly preferable (in our free society) to demonizing them for DOING their jobs.

@birdpoof right. historically, news fulfilled the public-service mandate of broadcasting companies, with entertainment programming and commercials providing financial support. With the entirety of these enterprises, and not only in cable news, skewed towards profit ... we now find ourselves in the end-times of disaster capitalism, where even truth is secondary to the bottom line.

@JonChevreau @GottaLaff@mastodon.social @darthstar Jon - just about all of his rants/Trooth-rages (or at least a nod to the multiplicity of them) get amplified/repeated on TwitterX, CNN, et al.

@randahl just going after that Contrailian vote ... because the anti-vaxxers alone can't help them.

@birdpoof I could see Free Speech TV and Democracy Now! among the publicly supported, mostly nonprofit independent media leading the way, and catching on with a larger audience, but they would need to up their production values some, and add programming. There are good, famous people essentially in exile like Medhi Hasan and Tiffany Cross, too ...

@neil I put a lot of work into improving Wiki articles as an editor. Technically still learning how to do it better. I don't think it's going anywhere, but I also provide monnetary support to independent artists -- and to noncommercial radio, incl. one station with rather large expenses in archiving its content. So if you value a resource, support it.

@forthy42 @cstross apparently anything that values facts is a nonstarter for guys like "Il Douche" Musk.

@gedankenstuecke I don't think the Wikimedia Foundation has *that* much of a warchest - what? $267M? - considering what their operating expenses must be. His beef is with the "DEI" boogeyman and I say screw him, i got involved as an editor thanks to their Art+Feminism Editing project, improving the content on women artists and creators. The point? To achieve better *balance* on the site.

You can hear AG read the #gaetz #ethics report to the #houseofrepresentatives (which MAGA Mike Moses Johnson didn't want released, so it's a win for the people) on dailybeanpod.com
