@sortius @CyberpunkLibrarian very doable in a city - society is incredibly wasteful. grocery stores throw out produce with blemishes and packaged food past its arbitrary sell by date. Restaurants toss prepped foods that aren’t needed in a day’s orders. manufacturers toss mispackaged goods or anything with a slightly altered recipe

Flipping through my puzzle book today and definitely found the humor in this puzzle solution: “to really see the humor in a situation you have to have perspective. perspective is derived from two ancient greek words: “persp”, meaning something bad that happens to somebody else, and “ective”, meaning ideally somebody like Donald Trump” #USPol #Quotes #Humor

@TheBird that was my first thought when i saw that they’re being hacked. But I somehow became convinced that it both played a message while also functioning as intended - I didn’t realize it disallowed the accessibility feature. It seems like if it’s so easy to hack it would be pretty simple to send a message while keeping the functionality

@QasimRashid @killick what if instead of using the word “people” we call them things generally disliked by society? Or if we outsourced the torture?

@carbontwelve haha i have that kind but the setting means that number +- 2 degrees (C). So while it might not be intentional disabling by the manufacturer, it’s definitely lost its functionality over the years

@sandriver in elementary school my teacher played a song about metamorphic, igneous, and “sedimentary rocks” (my brain sings that part) and i’ve looked for it since but haven’t found it
