If these rumors of #Apple working with LG on new hardware are true, they could not have come at a worse time. What’s more, they are a serious red flag for me in Apple’s direction. LG hasn’t exactly been a paragon of privacy for quite a while. But the recent news that LG’s has been using its TV mics to record and store everything they can hear is damning. Not a good first step for the Ternus era.

Oh ya think Apple Health? Probably since I’m not doing 24,000 steps a day at Disney World anymore. 😆

Good grief Apple, how is this so hard. At least Siri AI kinda understands there are days beyond “the next 24 hours.” But why does it repeat by default. Why. Who did this. What kind of life do they live that is so different from the rest of us.

When I am president I will imprison every product manager and developer who built systems to 'send you a code to login' instead of promoting and educating about password managers. Minimum of 15 years in prison, no chance for parole. This will be retroactive. I will burn this concept to the ground and then burn its ashes.

Jess and I picked up some Lego sets at Disney World. Got this ‘Creators’ series Halloween set for free. The tree’s mouth lights up and its arms move!

“You’ve asked for a multi-user iOS since the OS had iPhone in the name. We’ve never done it, because… shut up, that’s why.” “But now you can have it… on a device that can only sit on your kitchen table, nightstand, or a wall. That’ll be $300.” - Apple

Why did Apple need to partner with other companies like LG and Schneider to design new hardware?

One thing I'll say for Windows (my gaming PC is #Windows11 FWIW), I really dig the per-app volume control. I miss it now on #macOS. I'm in a couple of important discussions in Discord for which I'd like to hear alerts, but that means Messages can also DIIIIING the heckin out of my ears. Yes, I've seen third-party utilities that can do this. I might try one. Do folks have any recommendations? #Apple

On the record, I am still angry at #Apple for allowing a bunch of staunch Mac nerds into the #iPad wing. They utterly decimated the beauty and simplicity of iPad multitasking because "ooh it's too hard to learn and try something new so I just want it to work like a Mac because I hate learning something new." Think different my ass. I thoroughly dislike every individual involved in this travesty. I don’t care who you are, I dislike you. If you want a Mac, buy a goddamn Mac.

It looks like @protonprivacy@mastodon.social directly supported a far right French YouTuber who is a holocaust denier and pro-hate just about everything that isn’t a straight white dude. Not just an automated ad, it was a direct sponsorship for which the YouTuber thanked Proton. #Proton #protonmail https://www.reddit.com/r/degoogle/s/0csrmIOmcw

USB-C has been such a... blessing? Doesn't feel like the right word. I plug a cable into my iPad, then my Sony gaming headphone case, then my iPhone, then my keyboard. Just great.

Fun #Reddit thread about seemingly unrealistic scenes in #movies (and TV) that turn out to be absolutely true depictions of events IRL. Example: Someone in a grounded TV drama jumps off the third story ledge of a parking garage to avoid a shootout. Gets up and limps away. Fans were pissed at how unrealistic it seemed. Writer responds that they based it on a true event, except that person IRL did it from the 5th floor. https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/s/ELDgVYHGf5

Bag nerds: If you haven’t heard of Carryology, you might hate me for bringing it to your attention. Either way, they’re embarking on a revamped approach to ditch stuff like affiliate links, SEO listicles, and even ads. They want to focus on stories from people, real-world exploration and techniques, and more community efforts. Seems like a bold move for this kind of niche. Let’s see how it pans out. #EverydayCarry #Carryology https://www.carryology.com/community/carryology-3-new-vision/
