@heartofcoyote @quantensalat I have no idea to what you are referring. What schedule is not being respected?

@heartofcoyote @quantensalat I'm reading your response again. I think you have COMPLETELY misunderstood. The bell called the kitchen help! I objected to treating them like dogs & using a bell. No one was bossing us astronomers around.

I am shaking w/ emotion by what I just saw: THE best political performance I have EVER seen by ANYONE. #KamalaHarris' acceptance speech had it all, but mostly it had authority, authenticity, warmth & love. Moved me to tears 😭 And I kid you not, as she accepted the nomination of the Democratic Party to be Pres of the US, here at my CA home the setting sun disappeared below the horizon *in a Green Flash*!! What an omen! I can feel it. This woman will become the leader of the f...

Hey Scotland! Richard Dawkins, renowned evolutionary biologist & fierce defender of science, is on his very last book tour for his latest book 'Genetic Book Of The Dead'. He'll be at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow on Oct 31. I am delighted that I will be his host for the evening & am busy composing my list of questions as I write. It will be both fun & sentimental to hear Dawkins riff in public one more time. Don't miss it! Ticke...

Hey! I'm happy to report my Halloween "Evening w/ Richard Dawkins" gig in Glasgow, Scotland, performed to a packed house, was a real joy. All ~1900 attendees were receptive, engaging, & laughed at our jokes. What more you can ask? 👏 My understanding is that a video of the event will be posted on YouTube in the near future. I'll let you know when it's up. Be sure to watch to the end! ;-) And if you were there, let us know what you thought!...

Just saw this on X. Yikes! Am I the only one disgusted by this hypersexualized graphic that turns #Harris into a Beyonce' look-alike? Damn it! We're not voting for a woman based on her sex appeal We're voting for a woman committed, by creed & action, to a just system that serves all & saves America from ruin! #VoteBlue #election #Nov5

Today is Carl Sagan's 90th birthday. In light of recent events, I find myself ever so grateful for that time when we were both alive on the same planet, when we all had his insights and wisdom as guides for evaluating both the natural world and the world created by humans. And so thankful for his mentorship. I was blessed back then and didn't fully appreciate my good fortune. I certainly do today. Happy 90th, Carl! Wish you were here.

@tuban_muzuru@ohai.social Ed was certainly one of my heroes, too. The best Project Scientist that ever lived.
