I Missed That The First Time Sometimes you can read the same family history a dozen times before a detail finally clicks. A passing reference to my grandmother's Chicago days led me to a piano teacher, two music schools, and questions about her musical talent that I wish I'd asked my dad. http://www.bobmuellerwriter.com/i-missed-that-the-first-time/

I've read my dad's family history over and over, but this week one little detail finally clicked. It led me to a piano teacher, two music schools, and new questions about my grandmother's musical talent. I have the dates, but I want the stories. And sometimes the search makes me miss Dad even more. #Genealogy https://www.bobmuellerwriter.com/i-missed-that-the-first-time/

New York By Way of China My great-grandfather’s brother Phillip immigrated to America at 15, apprenticed as a fresco painter, joined a wagon train heading west, and spent years wandering through mining towns and lumber camps before returning to New York by way of Panama. I envy his wanderlust. http://www.bobmuellerwriter.com/new-york-by-way-of-china/

This exoneration is excellent news. I note though that because of junk science and law enforcement incompetence, Eugene Garner's killer will likely never be prosecuted. https://innocenceproject.org/news/sheila-denton-is-freed-after-15-years-of-wrongful-imprisonment/

New Life for Old Movies The pool saga finally seems to be over, I’m making some significant changes to our menu, and I’ve started digitizing old 8mm home movies—including footage of family members who have been gone for decades. Plus, it’s football season again. http://www.bobmuellerwriter.com/new-life-for-old-movies/

If you own an Intex pool and are submitting a warranty claim via their online ticket system, STOP! Their CS backend has been hacked. DO NOT send a "deposit" via Remitly or any other online payment system. Intex is aware of the hack but not yet doing anything about it. https://www.reddit.com/r/AboveGroundPools/comments/1vybgkh/scammers_have_compromised_the_intex/
