@DoubleTreble Morning, DT! I've tried your suggestion but he's not actually in the mood for hugs at the moment, preferring a little bit of mild psychopathy… I'll try again later. Have a lovely relaxing Sunday 🤗

@DoubleTreble About the same position as your 'next in line for the throne' ranking, I'd guess. Although you've recently gone up by one in that queue, now that I have a new neighbour at Sandringham… 🫅

@MAJ1 Morning all! Dashing around today so just a quickie… The Guardian has an article about Palantir that makes grim reading https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/apr/21/palantir-manifesto-uk-contract-fears-mps?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other Except for one paragraph. Hmmm… anyone we know? "There’s no shortage of bizarre and disturbing quotes from Palantir’s leadership,” said Tim Squirrell, the head of strategy at the campaign group Foxglove.

@NormanDunbar@mastodon.scot Make sure MrsD wipes her feet when she gets home. Afternoon, MrD. Have a tremendous day and remember, salted caramel is delicious too!

@MAJ1 Afternoon, squirrel guru. Sunny for the most part here, so all good. Matty loves being brushed too - right up until the point where he suddenly doesn't. Cats, eh? My spies in Shrewsbury advise me that the uprising has begun... Have an excellent whatever remains of your day!

As the son of a diesel fitter dad and a Co-op shop assistant mum living in Battersea I was offered a scholarship to Dulwich College. Can't fault the education but really didn't feel like I fitted in. But I still didn't make hissing noises at Jewish kids.

Anyone else like the Indeed promos that Channel 4 show before every #WalterPresents episode? I particularly like the one where the employer is trying to distract the job applicant from asking about the salary and she says, "Did I mention #TacoTuesday?" Hilarious.

@Steampunk_Prof@mastodon.social Pretty sure we would have watched it in black and white on our 14" Murphy. Coincidentally, a 14" Murphy was apparently the objective of my mother's ultimately disappointing trip to Dublin... @MAJ1@beige.party

@Steampunk_Prof@mastodon.social Series 1 Episode 4! The one I vividly remember turns out to have been the very first episode, when all the plastic on a plane began to melt and drip from around the windows in mid-air. 13-year-old me was a bit worried by that! @MAJ1@beige.party

@MAJ1@beige.party Morning! Approximately… 👋 Glad I'm not the only one running late. I've had a weirdly productive day but I'm not intending to make a habit of it. I was thinking today about the '70s BBC series #Doomwatch, and wondering if anyone else here attributes their fears for the planet to Kit Pedlar, Simon Oates and co. You're probably too young to remember it! Have a fine what's left of the day 😁

@JustaJason007@beige.party Lineage OS six years down the line then… So far - aside from having to set everything up again - I'm very pleased with it. It's been peeing down all day, so I ended up taking just one picture: LED lighting, hand-held at 6x zoom (3x optical plus 2x digital) and I'm very impressed. Matty says Hi, or possibly Food! It's #Caturday, after all. @amiserabilist@beige.party @MAJ1@beige.party @Soldusty@beige.party @glasspusher@beige.party @kierkegaank@mastodon.s...

One of our friends volunteers at the Wells-Next-the-Sea community cinema, whose professionalism puts many commercial operations to shame. She'd just helped at a showing of #Pillion (Harry Melling, Alexander Skarsgård) and in a Les Dawson 'Cissie and Ada' whisper she said, "It was *very explicit* - not just *bums*. The place was almost full of *gay men*", almost silently mouthing those phrases. At the end, she turned to a colleague and said, "Well, I've certainly...

@megabreadvansworld@mastodon.social We pass this beauty on one of our regular walks around here. Bodily, it looks not unlike the slightly later #BMC FG in the third picture. The badge seems to date it to the post-Austin Morris period, so 1968 onwards, and before the 1970 change to Leyland badging. And it appears to be someone's home, judging by the washing hanging nearby. In a nod to Kevin McCloud, they've even built a substantial extension. Or at least parked a similarly dilapidated...

Here's an oddity I #spotted on #Guernsey a few years back. Very much a grab shot against the light, so heavily GIMP'd, but it's apparently a #Subaru Sambar Dias Classic, although I would have guessed #Daihatsu #Hijet. Later Sambars were re-badged Hijets, so that might be true. If ever there was a #WeirdCarMastodon candidate, I'd say this was it. Gotta love a #kei car! #ClassicCars #OnlyVans
