  @simon I’ve used Home Assistant for years and am a fan. Tons of integrations. A lot of stuff works locally, which I like – although some devices don’t support that. Easy to start small and grow. They are constantly improving it and for the most part updates are trouble free. For external access I pay for the Nabu Casa cloud thing – it’s not that expensive and I like supporting the project (and that means I don’t need to mess with the DIY ways to do that).
