social work talk of the day: social workers have the ability to influence every aspect of society, making them indispensable to the health and well-being of our communities. reducing funding for social work education limits the future workforce of professionals dedicated to advancing mental health, strengthening families, protecting children, supporting older adults and other vulnerable populations, responding to crises, and advocating for human rights and social justice.

maybe this is a dumb question; and if so I apologize. you know how people buy car parts.. well is there anything i can look at for my issue regarding needing a steering rack? or is this all internal?

this is too close to my home (Lima, ohio) for comfort to not give my initial thoughts. let’s be honest here: dna, does NOT a parent make. this billboard implies LGBTQ+ couples can't be parents because two men, two women, etc., didn't create a child together. do they realize this same scenario applies to adoptive couples as well?? are we making that claim that adoptive parents aren't moms and dads? exactly; didn’t think so! just utter nonsense, homophobic, and complete BS.

mental health chat after hours: real mental health reform cannot happen without recognizing that every individual is more than a diagnosis, a chart, or a list of symptoms. people carry lived experiences shaped by trauma, culture, family dynamics, economic hardship, identity, and personal struggles that all influence how they experience mental health and healing..

poverty is not just a financial condition, it is a psychological one, and the mental health field has been treating the symptoms for decades without addressing the root causes. when you grow up without consistent safety, without resources, without the ability to plan beyond tomorrow, your nervous system adapts. we go into a permanent state of alert because in an environment of scarcity, everything is a potential threat. that is not a mental illness.

just hearing about lousiana mall shooting. honestly, where is gun control.. in the u.s., we’re experiencing mass shooting at such alarming rates, with no end in sight. enough with thoughts and prayers. we need accountability.
