@lwn covered the release of a new version of CalyxOS. Calyx, as cited by LWN, notes "our lead engineer is continuing the maintenance of the base device trees for both LineageOS and CalyxOS to bridge the gap created by the absence of Google Pixel device trees." https://calyxos.org/news/2026/07/01/calyxos-official-release-is-back/ This remark puzzles me. Is there any reason @conservancy why device trees would not be part of a GPLv2-compliant response to a request for kernel s...

@thetransmitter@mastodon.social Hah, it would be humorous at some level if a person's genome could largely be inferred from publicly accessible data. Some privacy debates may effectively be ended by technology.

Day 2 of @LAS started with a presentation by Rene Rebe about "Growing the Linux App Ecosystem with RISC-V and RVA23 Platforms". The talk's focus was on the rapid growth and varied applications supported by RISC-V. The recent trend towards standardization should only accelerate adoption. Much of the technical content was about new support for SIMD. https://conf.linuxappsummit.org/event/9/contributions/229/
